Here is how my 2 friends and I spent a weekend trip in Portland!
My favorite thing to do is scour Google Flights. Joie de vivre✨
Our first stop from the airport was Fried Egg I'm In Love, and they weren't lying. The sandwiches were so good, it's definitely a must-stop. After breakfast, we got a coffee before jumping back into the car to go do some hikes and chase some waterfalls. Our next destination was Multnomah Falls, which was so beautiful. From there, we hiked the Wahkeena Trail, which was one of my favorite parts of the weekend. Later, we ended the night by getting cute and going to dinner at Ba Mee, where I would recommend the N9. The vibes in there were great. On the way to dinner, we passed a wishing tree and added our own. For dessert, we headed over to The Yard Milkshake bar. That's how we ended our first night in Portland.
The next morning, we had breakfast at My Vice Food and Spirits. Afterwards, we drove over to the Portland Saturday Market, where we got engraved matching bracelets for only $5. While we were there, I purchased my first Smiski, and one of my friends got her first Sony Angel. Another note is that we saw some beautiful flower bouquets that were so affordable. We were sad we couldn't take them home. It was a great time with plenty of photo ops, especially right by the water. Once we finished at the market, we went to Powell's Books, then got pizza across the street. Next, we stopped for pastries and some matcha before walking around one of the prettiest neighborhoods, the fallen leaves making it especially picturesque. On our way back, we passed Lady Luck Tattoo and decided to make a spontaneous stop. After taking photos in a photo booth, we returned to the hotel, changed, and then hopped in the car to visit Airplane Home. We had a great time exploring and were definitely grateful for our Jeep rental. Finally, that night, we wrapped up the day with ice cream before hitting the hay.
On this day, we started our morning at Project Matcha and Bao Bao for fuel. Next, we drove down to the coast for breakfast at Seasons Cafe, where the clam chowder was amazing. Afterwards, we hiked the trail down to Indian Beach at Ecola State Park. I highly recommend that, if you're going to go that route instead of driving to the top, you account for sunset. Uber doesn't work up there!
On our final day, we had brunch at Jam on Hawthorne. Although the food was yummy, the wait was long. After eating, we passed the time at Phin Cafe and Boba doing some homework, since it was still the middle of the semester. Finally, we headed to the airport. Portland was a great brain break, and I am glad I got to spend that time with my friends.
