Québec is the perfect winter destination, and this itinerary takes you through some of its most iconic destinations, combining vibrant city life, winter sports, breathtaking snowy landscapes, and unforgettable wildlife experiences.
Explore the historic charm of Old Montréal with a visit to Notre-Dame Basilica, followed by scenic views from La Grande Roue. Continue through the lively Esplanade Tranquille and Complexe Desjardins, before ending the day at the Grand Marché de Noël de Montréal, where festive lights, local flavors, and holiday spirit fill the city.
L'Hotel Particulier Griffintown
Discover another side of Montréal by exploring its cultural and creative neighborhoods. Start the day in Plateau Mont-Royal, known for its colorful streets, local cafés, and artistic atmosphere. Continue to Mile End, a vibrant area famous for its bakeries, bookstores, and relaxed vibe. In the afternoon, enjoy a walk through Mount Royal Park for panoramic views of the city, followed by time downtown for shopping or visiting a museum. End the day in Quartier des Spectacles, where winter installations and city lights bring Montréal’s cultural scene to life.
Leave Montréal behind and head toward Mont-Tremblant, with a stop at Omega Park (1h30 from Montréal) along the way. Plan to spend about 2–3 hours driving through the park and observing Canadian wildlife in their natural winter habitat, making this journey as special as the destination itself. Afterward, continue to Mont-Tremblant (approx. 1h), arriving in time to settle into the mountain village and enjoy a relaxed evening surrounded by snow-covered scenery.
Start the day on the slopes of Mont-Tremblant Ski Resort, suitable for all levels. Spend the morning skiing or snowboarding while taking in panoramic mountain views. The mountain runs from 8:30 to 3:30 and when you’re not enjoying the beautiful trails, the village itself is great. At the same place that you can buy the lift tickets, you can also rent clothes and ski equipments.
Ermitage du Lac
For both of my days in the village, I chose to ski and snowboard. However, there are several other activities to enjoy around Mont-Tremblant, such as: 🛷 Snow Tubing 🐕 Dog Sledding ❄️ Snowshoeing ⛸️ Ice Skating – The Ermitage du Lac hotel is located next to a free ice-skating rink, and guests staying at the hotel can borrow skates at no cost. 🧖♀️ Scandinave Spa Mont-Tremblant There are also great après-ski options in the village. I went to P’tit Caribou, known for having the best parties.
